I’m pleased to share that Alfred Music has published one of my latest compositions! I am honored to be among about 15 new composers Alfred recently recruited to add new pieces to their Signature Series Solos.
My new piece is titled The Lumbering Bear. It is a descriptive piece for mid-elementary level students that is especially effective for recitals or performances.

Joy, congratulations on the Alfred publication — getting into the Signature Series Solos is a real milestone after years of self-publishing. The Lumbering Bear sounds like exactly the kind of bass-register, character piece that’s missing from most early-level catalogs. Hoping they bring it to hardcopy soon — my students always engage better with physical sheet music they can mark up.
