It’s early, I know! But the other day, I decided to browse on Amazon to see what I might find for a holiday gift for my students.
Is it necessary to give your students a gift during the holidays? Certainly not, but personally I do find joy in getting something small and fun to make my students smile.
Here’s what I’m thrilled to have found for this year: these accordion fold music ornaments!
Note: This blog post contains Amazon affiliate links. Thanks for supporting my work!
My girls were absolutely enraptured with these and very willing to help me get photos of the ornaments. 🙂
Aren’t they beautiful?!
When they arrived in the box, the ornaments were folded up. If you look closely in the photo below, you can see the magnets that allow the ornament to stay open.
I like that the idea that the ornament can fold back up for easy storage from year to year. I also appreciate that I can tuck the ornament into an envelope along with a Christmas card. (It might be too thick to send through the mail, I suppose, but it will be nice to add to some of the Christmas cards I give in-person to friends or family.)
When you order, the package comes as a set of 12 ornaments with 6 different ornament shapes. Each ornament hangs from a loop of gold thread, and there is a touch of gold edging on the paper as well.
I plan to give a single ornament to each of my piano students, as well as to each of the members of the church choir I lead. I also purchased enough for me to keep a set of the 6 shapes to put on our own Christmas tree! 🙂
I might pair the ornaments with two homemade cookies in transparent music note treat sacks (if I can find some time to do some baking in December!). Each student family will also receive a holiday card. I’ll give them to my students a week or two before our winter break.
If you are interested in these accordion fold ornaments as a lovely but affordable gift for your students this year, you might want to check them out! Here’s the link to order them on Amazon.
(Fair warning: If you plan to order, don’t delay. Last year, the item I shared about here on my blog sold out very quickly and wasn’t available for quite a while until they could get them restocked.)
More Ideas
Speaking of last year… I’ll go ahead and briefly share a couple of gift ideas from the past. Last year was these cute sequin music note keychains. I ordered them the moment I saw them!
The year before that, I ordered these wooden music-themed ornaments. They look even better in-person than they do in my photos. I was really pleased with them! See my detailed write-up and photos about them here.

I hope you found something fun and inspiring in today’s post!

Just ordered the folding ornaments! Usually about a week before I need to give something, I start looking. Now I’m ahead of the game! Thanks for sharing these ideas!
Yay for being ahead of the game! Thanks for the comment, Julie!
I am always so glad to get your Christmas gift ideas. Sometimes things aren’t available in Canada, but I can always find one of your ideas on Amazon from previous years. Thanks so much. Very appreciative!
That’s great to hear, Pat! I’m glad if at least one of my ideas is available for you in Canada!
Joy, I’m so grateful for your Christmas gift ideas! They are always just right and such a timesaver!
Yay, thanks for the comment, Gretchen! Glad I can help!
I have given music themed ornaments to my students for years and years. These are so unique. I’ve ordered them already. To give them to the students, I put each ornament in a small gift bag. Each student choses a bag. This way, they don’t choose on sight, they choose “blind” and are never disappointed.
So glad you liked the look of these ornaments, Judy! And thanks for your tip about putting them all in small bags for students to choose from for themselves. So nice to hear from you!!
