Around this time last year, I found and recommended some beautiful yet affordable music ornaments to order as holiday gifts for my piano students. Many of you ordered and told me you were pleased with those ornaments.
Guess what: here I am again this year, with another recommendation I’m thrilled about!
I’m delighted to have found the wooden music snowflake ornaments pictured below. [Update: these appear to be sold out currently on Amazon. Check back later to see if restocked, or scroll to the end of this post for other ornament recommendations.] Aren’t they elegant and fun?! I think my students will enjoy recognizing the music symbols hidden within the snowflake designs.
Note: This blog post contains Amazon affiliate links. Thanks for supporting my work!

These ornaments are lightweight and made of wood. They come as a lot of 24 (an amazing value!), with 2 each of 12 different snowflake designs.

Here’s a better look at each of the 12 different snowflake designs.

The ornaments arrived boxed along with pre-cut strands of twine and red plaid ribbon. Assembly is required to attach the twine in a loop and add a bow with the ribbon. I actually prefer the look of the ornaments without the ribbon, so I opted to not add the bows. Here’s how they look both ways:

I plan to write the year and a short message to my students on the back of each ornament.

I might pair each ornament with a couple homemade cookies in transparent music note treat sacks, if I can find some time to do some baking in December. I always give each student family a holiday card as well and give their gift a week or two before our winter break from lessons.

If you are interested in these wooden music snowflake ornaments as a lovely, affordable gift for your students this year, you might want to check them out! Here’s the link to order them on Amazon.
(Fair warning: If you plan to order, don’t delay. Last year, the ornaments I recommended sold out quickly on Amazon and were not available until they were eventually restocked.)
More Ideas
In case you missed the ornaments I recommended last year, here they are: these absolutely stunning accordion fold music ornaments. I ordered them the moment I saw them! See more photos here.

The year before that, I ordered these cute sequin music note keychains. See more photos here.

Thanks so much, Diane. I really do appreciate the support via the affiliate links — it helps!
Are they sold out? Not seeing them.
Yes, unfortunately they sold out this morning. So sorry, Brenda! I recommend checking back to see if they will be restocked on Amazon, or checking out my list of other recommendations.
I”ve given non-musical gifts, or sometimes an ornament attached to a non-musical gift…. including popcorn tins, pick-your-own -gift card, a Christmas cannister with hand-dipped pretzels in it( and then ask how they can use it afterwards for a musical reason), and then this one some have really loved… you can take a full size record album and mold it in oven to be bowl shaped ( I hire my daughters friend to do this cuz he has it down pat), and then I put some fresh fruit in it.
Those are all neat ideas, Karen! Thanks for sharing!
These are exquisite! Thanks for recommending. And so reasonable! Enough to give to students and a few music colleagues and at least one to keep for my own too-big collection. Happy holidays, Joy. Keep on inspiring us with your knowledge and enthusiasm. Everything you share is delightful. You are a bright light in this world.
